It is the third largest river in the world by discharge. 恆河是南亞的一條主要河流，流經印度北部及孟加拉。恆河被印度教徒視為聖河，也是河流周邊居民維持日常生活所需的命脈。印度教中也有稱為「恆河女神」的神祇。
