Moreover, it was considered as the navel (or centre) of the world by the Greeks as represented by the Omphalos. 德爾斐，是一處重要的「泛希臘聖地」，即所有古希臘城邦共同的聖地。這裡主要供奉著「德爾斐的阿波羅」，著名的德爾斐神諭就在這裡頒布。
