It is famous as it is the place where Gautama Buddha is said to have obtained Enlightenment under what became known as the Bodhi Tree. 菩提伽耶，又稱佛陀伽耶，位於印度巴特那城南約150公里處，是釋迦牟尼的悟道成佛處。已成為佛教徒心中的聖地，也是佛教四大聖地之一。中國古代高僧法顯和玄奘先後記載了菩提伽耶的歷史。
